SUPER DUPE or POPPY DUPE! - Tarte Amazionan Clay VS Rimmel Stay Matte

I've been seeing lots of people claim that Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation (about $5 at Ulta) is an exact dupe for Tarte's Amazonian Clay 12hr foundation ($38 at Sephora/Ulta and Tarte Online), I own and LOVE Tarte's foundation. So I decided I'd try it out and see if people were crazy or not.........
So, I started by doing half of my face with one foundation and the other half with the dupe. The rest of my face was the same (primer/blush/eyes/setting spray)
On my hand can you tell the difference? They both have a light and whipped texture, neither smell or do anything weird.
I figured a muggy, rainy day was perfect to test if my face would truly stay matte or not....... (insert dramatic sound effect here.......... bum, bum, baaaaaaaa)

Anyways...... Dramatic music aside....... Let the makeup show down BEGIN! SUPER DUPE OR POOPY DUPE (bum, bum, baaaaaa)

DO WE HAVE A WINNER?!?! ............. No............ No we don't keep reading, this isn't that quick of a makeup show down, that would be no fun!

So I took a bunch of selfies trying to get pictures of the side of my face, this was a little bit of a challenge because I felt ridiculous. I couldn't let my weird-ness ruin the makeup showdown! The show must go on, no matter how awkward my pictures get.

As you can see from the picture, after about an hour one side started to oxidize and turn pink. There was a slight hint of pink but since I was actively looking for stuff, I noticed it on my neck. I don't think it was hugely noticeable   So we went to lunch and from there went to run some errands. After I got back home I took some more awkward selfies, why? ....because that's what I do......

At this point, the pink from the oxidation had kind of went away. My nose was a little shiny but on both sides, I couldn't tell if one side had controlled the oil better then the other. (Disclaimer: My lovely boyfriend did steal my nose, he very well could have taken the makeup off in the process. Don't be mad at him, I may or may not have deserved it.)
So I'm sure by this time in the blog you're like "FOOL, NOBODY CARES.... WHICH IS BETTER" but don't worry, I'm getting there. I had to take a few more selfies since Tarte claimed to be 12 hour foundation. I wasn't planning on wearing the makeup for 12 hours (a girl needs her beauty sleep). So instead I took a picture right before I washed my face off and got ready for bed.

Any guesses, which side is the Tarte that I love so much and which is Rimmel, well wait NO MORE, the answer is here!!

No..... that's a dog.... but look how happy he is...... awww.... he must know which side is which.... or maybe he farted? Who knows?
OKAY! Here it is for real!
Final thoughts:
This is a VERY good dupe, the coverage is about the same and they both applied awesome. The only down fall was the Rimmel turning pink. Tarte has 25 shades of foundation to choose from, Rimmel has 6 colors. Is it worth the price difference? That's up to you. If you find a shade of Rimmel that works for you, then you won't be missing out on anything. If you have a harder to match tone, Tarte will be the winner. I'm wearing Tarte's "Medium Sand" and Rimmel's "200 Soft Beige"
I'd say this is a SUPER dupe, if you have a matching tone. Good job Rimmel!!
